PROCEDURE TO CLAIM DEATH COMPENSATION IN SAUDI ARABIA
Legal heirs should follow the procedure after the death of an expatriate to claim the death compensation of the deceased person in the form of End Of Service Benefits or Blood Money or GOSI Compensation. Recommended : Death Compensation of an Expatriate
1. CONTACT NATIVE COUNTRY EMBASSY :
In case of death of any family member in Saudi Arabia, Firstly you should contact your home contry embassy in Riyadh. The procedure is simple if any of your family member living in Saudi Arabia, If no one is staying in Saudi Arabia, then you should contact Ministry Of Foreign Affairs in your country, They will tell you the procedure to follow, just adopt that procedure. LEGAL HEIRS CERTIFICATE :
Legal heirs of the deceased person should apply for the legal heir certificate which will be issued by Statutory Authority of your native country either by Civil Judge or district Magistrate. All the legal heir's of the deceased person should be mentioned in the certificate including their relationship. In case of Legal heir is spouse (wife or husband) then year of marriage must be include in the certificate. If legal heir is minor then his guardian relationship should be mentioned in the certificate. This certificate must be attested from home department of State, Ministry Of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and Saudi Embassy of home country.
POWER OF ATTORNEY :
You must provide a power of attorney to someone who is responsible for the proceedings to the court. It may be a family member or relatve or embassy of your home country for legal proceedings of the court. It is always better to assign it to home country embassy in Saudi Arabia to carry proceedings of the court. The power of attorney must be translated into Arabic and English then it must be attested from the home department of State, Ministry Of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and Saudi Embassy of home country. 2. SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS :
Once your Legal Heir's Certificate and Power Of Attorney is ready with all 3 attestations, Now you need to submit it your home country embassy in Riyadh. Then your home country will handle all the procedures for claiming the dues or blood money on behalf of you. Recommended : Expatriate Death Procedure
SHARIAH RULES :
Non Muslim legal heirs are not permitted to take anything from the Muslim deceased person inheritance. Even any compensation of Blood Money or End Of Service benefits, The Saudi Government will not discharge any kind of funds even legal heirs accepts Islam after the death of deceased person.
