Saudi Arabia has a record of World's Longest Straight Road
Everyone loves curving and twisting roads, but sometimes for reaching destination faster you need to cut corners and choose to go straight and boring road.World's longest straight road record goes to Saudi Arabia's Highway 10.
- Saudi Arabia's Highway 10, which is around 256 kilometres is world's longest stretch of straight road. Earlier, Australia's Eyre Highway was the longest and straight road with a stretch of 146 kilometers long.
Kingdom's Highway 10, which starts from Al Haradh area to Al Badha is completely straight up to 260 kilometers with out any turns and bends and curves and cuts through the Rub Al Khali desert. Haradh city is famous for oil and natural gas and Al Batha is border to United Arab Emirates (UAE).
- Saudi Arabia's Highway 10 is mainly used for transporting goods and the people who are traveling from the central and western regions of Saudi Arabia to the UAE by road.
- This highway is a place where you will not like to drive, if you are tired or feeling sleepy as it is the hottest and driest place with a temperature around 50 C in a day and freezing at night, It is likely to happen the beautiful sand shifting and natural landscapes would not keep you awake here.
