Custom Duty on Flat TVs, Jewelry and Gold Bars at Indian Airports
Indians Nationals who are arriving India from Foreign countries or Abroad with Flat TVs, LED, LCD, Plasma including new ones or old ones and Gold Jewelry or Gold bars should pay custom duty to the government of India at Indian airports. Trending : ATM withdrawal limit in Saudi Arabia
Custom Duty on import of Flat (LED / LCD / Plasma) Television panels :
New Flat TVs : All flat Televisions shall be chargeable to Customs Duty at the rate of 38.50% on the purchase value. Similar : Limit of gold allowed at Indian airports without Custom duty
Used or Old TVs : All Flat Televisions shall be chargeable to Customs Duty at the rate of 38.50% on the depreciated (Price dropped) value.
Import of Gold Jewelry / Bar :
Eligibility for free allowance ( On Jewelry Only) :
Indian residents arriving after staying abroad for more than 1 year can bring jewelry free of duty up to (Rs.100,000) one Lakh rupees (Female Passenger) or 50,000 rupees (Male Passenger). Read : Limit of cash allowed to carry at Saudi Airports without custom duty
Eligibility to carry Jewelry / Bar as a baggage goods other than free allowance :
Indian arriving from abroad after a stay of more than 6 months, can bring Jewelry / Bar up to 1 Kg and pay duty on concessional rate of 11% on tariff value of gold notified by Government of India from time to time.
