Saudi Arabia suspends Workplace Attendance for Government Employees Except Health, Security and Military sectors

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia suspended the attendance of all government employees at their workplaces for 16 days, except the employees in health, security and military sectors reported the Ministry of Interior official source.




The precautionary measure is a part of the efforts to combat with the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, The government also said "reducing the presence of crowds in government departments by promoting electronic transactions and activating digital service delivery platforms in the service sector of all private and public agencies".

- The Saudi government is also asked to limit commercial dealings with companies and their representatives to electronic and telephone communication as much as possible said the official source.




- For private sector, The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development called companies, private institutions and charitable societies to reduce the number of workers attending on duty at workplaces and promote working remotely.

- The Ministry also allowed certain employees to work remotely by submitting a medical report with not more than 1 month of age, to pregnant women, people with respiratory diseases, cardiovascular disease, acquired or immune deficiency diseases, users of immuno suppressive drugs and those employees subject to treatment of tumors reported Saudi Gazette.



- The government in Saudi Arabia is also demanding all companies and institutions to enforce the a new policy of requiring all expat employees returning from their countries or outside of Saudi Arabia to self isolate in home for 14 days from their date of arrival before attending the work, Allow the same policy to those who shows respiratory symptoms without having traveled anywhere.
