Saudi Arabia temporarily bans Shisha and Tobacco serving in Restaurants & Cafes over Coronavirus fears
Authorities in Saudi Arabia have temporarily banned cafes and restaurants from serving hookah (Shisha) and tobacco in order to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus, The Ministry of Municipality and Rural Affairs announced the ban on its Twitter page.
The restrictions will be applicable on all Saudi cities including the capital city Riyadh, All the municipalities of the various regions in the Kingdom will make field inspections for making sure the strict compliance with the ban.
- According to an official in the Kingdom, Tobacco and the Shisha can cause easily infection transmission as they change hands, The precautionary measure is to ensure safety and protect health of the citizens and residents of the Kingdom, Saudi Health Minister hailed the ban.
- Saudi Arabia has taken several precautionary measures against the spread of coronavirus into Kingdom, including temporary ban on the Umrah trips to all countries and domestic pilgrims, closure of schools, universities and educational institutions and suspension of flights to a number of coronavirus hit countries.
