India surpass 200,000 mark in Corona cases, 7th Worst hit country in the World
Corona virus cases in India crossed 200,000 mark after reporting of 8,909 new cases in the last 24 hours taking total to 2,07,615 and making the 7th worst hit country by Covid-19 in the world after United States, Brazil, Russia, Spain, UK and Italy.
The Indian government said its preventive measures have been very effective, due to which the death rate is lower than other countries, India has recorded 5,829 deaths, recovered 100,303 cases and making the active cases to 100,483.
- India detected its first case on 30th January in Kerala, It reached 100,000 mark on 18th May, Later, within 15 days the cases has crossed the 200,000 mark.
- In terms of death rate due to Corona virus, India is on 13th position and in positive cases, The country ranked 7th recently after crossing the mark of 200,000. However, In terms of Active cases, India is on 5th position in the world.
- The worst hit states in the India are Maharashtra with 72,300 infections, Tamilnadu with 24,586, Delhi with 22,132 and Gujarat with 17,617 positive cases of Covid-19.
