Saudi Arabia to resume its Domestic Tourism from Today
Saudi Arabia resumes its domestic Tourism from Today (21 June) after stopping it for more than 3 months after the emerging of novel corona virus stated Ahmed Al Khateeb the Minister of Tourism in the Kingdom.
The Ministry said it had launched a study to examine if the Saudi citizens want Tourism within the country to reopen. It was revealed that about 80% of Saudi citizens want to take advantage of domestic Tourism as per the research study carried out by the Tourism authority.
- The Minister explained that, We launched the domestic Tourism program for the public after coordinating with the Health authorities and the concerned higher authorities.
- He said, relaunching domestic tourism would help to reduce the negative impact of corona virus in Tourism sector, He added that the stimulus package offered by the Kingdom's government had helped a lot in easing the pressure.
- Saudi Arabia has initiated a package of 61 billion dollars to project jobs and businesses and to reduce the economic burden of the crisis.
- The domestic Tourism sector is one of the important economic sectors as it covered 60% of salaries of Saudi employees in the private sector for a period of 3 months said the Minister of Tourism.
