Saudi Tourism Ministry targets 260,000 new jobs in 3 years
Tourism Ministry of Saudi Arabia is seeking to provide about 260,000 jobs in next 3 years and 1 million jobs by the year 2030, making total available job opportunities to 1.6 million said the Minister of Tourism and Chairman of Saudi Tourism Authority (STA), Ahmed Al Khateeb.
Nearly 600,000 people are employed in jobs related to Tourism in the Kingdom. 10% of the world's average income is of Tourism accounts. Currently Saudi Arabia has 3.5% income from Tourism while Spain has 18%, France has 16% said the Minister adding that he aims to raise the sector contribution to 10%.
- Saudi Arabia has a plan to open 38 tourism locations across 7 destinations by the year 2022, compare to the existing 15 locations in 4 destinations.
- Newly launched Saudi Summer Campaign, is an effort from the Ministry to revive the sector, The Tourism sector was most hit due to the Corona virus pandemic said the Minister in a statement.
