60% of Workers in Private Companies to benefit from the Services of Health Fund
The Cooperative Health Insurance Council revealed that 60% of the workers in the private sector will benefit from the services of the Cooperative Health Insurance Fund, which is expected to be launched at the end of this year.
The spokesman of the Council, Yasser AL Maarak said that the health fund will provide great services to private health insurance sector, especially the segment that exhausts the coverage limit of the health insurance policy, which is 500,000 riyals.
He explained that the fund will pay the expenses of treating cases whose cost exceeds the upper limit of the insurance policy and thus carries a heavy burden from the private sector, especially small and medium enterprises companies, which constitute 99.4% of the total sector.
- He added that the council will sponsor the financing of the fund in the first stage, until the financing options are studied in the following stages, where the regulations and rules of the fund will launched at the end of the year 2020.
- The Health Insurance Council approved last June the plan to operate the guarantee fund, to cover more than the coverage limit for the private health beneficiaries of employees of small and medium enterprise companies.
