Implementation of 16th Phase of Wage Protection System from 1st August
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia announced that the 16th phase of the Wage Protection System (WPS) is going to implement from August 1, 2020. Related : Know what is Wage Protection System
The aim of WPS is to ensure that private sector employees are correctly paid as per the agreed terms in contract identified in Saudi Social Security and to track the salaries of expatriates and nationals.
According to the Ministry, the implementation of the 16th phase of Wage Protection Program is for companies whose workers range between 5 and 10 workers, As of 1st August 2020. See Also : Transfer sponsorship of Expat dependents to companies
The Ministry indicated that it aims from this program to provide an appropriate and safe work environment in the private sector workers, raise the level of transparency and preserve the rights of the contracting parties (Employers and Workers).
The Ministry stressed the need for all establishments to stick to the wage protection program, and to upload the wage file monthly, in order to avoid any violations.
It is worth noting that the companies can comply with the program requirements in accordance with the procedures highlighted on the Ministry's website or by visiting the Madad platform.
