Most common Symptom among people with Corona Virus
A recent study conducted by the Center for Innovation, Development and Artificial Intelligence "Siada" at Umm Al-Qura University confirmed that the sense of smell is the biggest evidence of infection of the "Corona emerging" virus.
Only one symptom was linked to infection with the “Corona” virus, which is the loss of the sense of smell, noting that this presentation was noticed by all those infected, even those who were infected and did not suffer from clear symptoms.
- Many of those afflicted confirmed their sudden loss of smell and a complete return within a week or two at most.
- According to a study by Siada, the loss of the sense of smell was the first symptom in 12% of the respondents, and symptoms of loss of sense of smell or taste in the injured increased by 300% last April, compared to the previous month of March.
A British study confirmed that the reason for the loss of the sense of smell is due to the fact that the part of the nose that smells odor, is obscured by the swelling of soft tissues due to infection.
- The Siada Center recommended that the test of olfactory loss be among the precautionary measures in effect when returning to work or in crowded places.
