20% Saudization on Engineering Professions in Private sector, decision issued from Minister of Human Resources
The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, issued a ministerial decree to localize engineering professions in facilities at a rate of "20%". Trending : All public sector employees should return to work from next week
The decision comes within a set of decisions to localize the professions that the Ministry worked on in cooperation and partnership with the relevant government and supervisory agencies to enable graduates with qualifications from the Saudi citizens to obtain decent job opportunities.
- The Minister said the aim of the decision is to provide an appropriate and stimulating work environment for national cadres in the private sector, and to enhance their work in the pivotal jobs to contribute. In developing the private sector and real participation in its decisions and enhancing the contribution to the economic system. - This decision applies to all private sector establishments operating in the Saudi market in which 5 workers or more are employed with engineering professions. The minimum wage for Saudi engineers is set to 7,000 riyals. About 117 specialized professions included in the engineering profession settlement decision.
- In the event that engineering professions are targeted in previous decisions or subsequent decisions for a specific profession or professions in different proportions in line with the changes in the labor market and its needs, then the localization rate will be applied the above.
