Know the Crimes while driving which may lead you to 4 years Jail term and 200,000 riyals Fine
The Public Prosecutor's Office in Saudi Arabia reminded a group of major crimes while driving the vehicle, pointing out that its penalty may reach to a fine of 200,000 riyals and imprisonment for 4 years, if these crimes result in the death or demise of the injured member. The Public Prosecution said: “Traffic accidents while driving a vehicle under the influence of intoxicants, narcotic drugs, or psychotropic substances, or drifting, or driving in the opposite direction, or bypassing a red traffic light, if it results in the death or demise of an organ, or the disruption of a benefit or part of it, or injury to the recovery period of more than 15 days. - The prosecution statement said: “Whoever commits a traffic accident that results in the death or demise of a member or the disruption of his benefit or part of it; "He shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not exceeding 4 years and a fine not exceeding 200,000 riyals, or either of these two punishments."
- Similarly, anyone who commits a traffic accident and results in an injury for which recovery period exceeds 15 days; He shall be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding 2 years and a fine of 100,000 riyals, or either of these two penalties. - The Public Prosecution also added: “Anyone who has committed a traffic accident is referred to the competent court to consider the appropriate penalty determination, and the regulations specify cases of abuse and negligence that fall under this paragraph.
