Displayed Prices tags in Saudi Arabia must include VAT - Commerce Ministry
The Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia highlighted that the costs of products in the market must include VAT (Value Added Tax). The Ministry stated that the prices on the shelf of the store must be with VAT and it should be same in the invoice, In case the two prices are different, one can complaint it against the company said the ministry.
- As an example, the ministry explained that, if a customer buys a product at a value of 100 SR, it must be with VAT and it should appear in invoice as 100 SR. In case the company charges another amount in tax from the buyer, it must be notified to GAZT (General Authority of Zakat and Tax) through a toll free number 19993. The ministry calls every consumer to lodge complaints with it against stores or commercial centers that do not display VAT inclusive prices on products through balagh tijari application or through Consumer reports center on the toll free number 1900.
