Jawazat specifies a mechanism of renewing Iqama months before its Expiry date

The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) in Saudi Arabia explained a mechanism of renewing domestic and commercial workers iqama, several months before their expired date. Trending : 70 percent Saudization in retail and Wholesale outlets of 9 key sectors from 20th August

- The official Jawazat account on Twitter responded:

“You can renew the iqama of domestic workers if the validity of their iqama is less than 14 months, and in the case of commercial workers, the validity of the iqama should be less than 6 months, on a condition of valid health insurance and work permit.




- The Jawazat had made it clear that domestic workers were dropped in two cases, after an inquiry from a citizen, stating: “I have a worker who left and did not return and tried to cancel her residency and cancel the visa from Absher, but the request is rejected.” See Also : Clarification from Jawazat on Passport validity while renewing Iqama

- The official Jawazat account on Twitter responded, saying:

“Domestic workers are automatically dropped out and no longer after 6 months of expiring the visa or by communicating through the "messages and requests" service, through the Absher e-services platform 30 days after the expiration date. The visa is valid so that we can serve you. ”
