Russia announces First Covid-19 Vaccine, President Putin daughter Vaccinated
Russia became the 1st country to officially register a corona virus vaccine and declare it as ready for use, the announcement came from President Vladimir Putin after the virus infected 20 million people and killed nearly 750,000 people in the world.
Putin said that the vaccine underwent the necessary tests and has proven efficient, He also said one of his 2 daughters has already been vaccinated with 2 shots and she is feeling well after receiving a vaccine.
- Many scientists in Russia and abroad, questioning the decision to register the vaccine before Phase 3 trials, which is about to lasts for months and involves thousands of people, it could backfire.
- Putin revealed that his daughter had a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius on 1st day of the vaccine injection then it dropped to 37 degrees on the following day. After a 2nd shot of vaccine her temperature slightly increased, but then it was all over. She is well and has high number of antibodies.
- According to the Ministry of Health of Russia, The vaccine is expected to provide immunity from Covid-19 for up to 2 years. The production of vaccine to start in September and mass Vaccination to begin in early October.
