Hajj ministry reveals the plan to resume Umrah pilgrimage in 3 phases
The Minister of Hajj and Umrah Saleh Benten said that the ministry is considering a 3 phase plan to restore the Umrah pilgrimage. In the first phase, Saudi citizens and expatriates residing in the kingdom will be allowed for Umrah.
However, the capacity is limited to 40% in order to prevent overcrowding, While in second phase, It will be increased to 75% of its capacity.
- In the 3rd or final phase, it will be restored to 100% and pilgrims from outside Saudi Arabia will be allowed to perform Umrah pilgrimage. Trending : Jail term and penalty for offenders of Saudi Flag
- The Minister said that the ministry will launch an online application to streamline the process flow for pilgrims to pre-book a date and time to perform the Umrah pilgrimage.
- He explained that Umrah companies to become strong economic entities providing high quality services through the I'tamarna application which will simplify the process for pilgrims to book their journeys. See Also : Duration of compensation in Emergency cases as per Health Council of Saudi Arabia
- About 30 local and International companies are going to provide services to pilgrims through e-platform and that Umrah companies serve more than 16 million pilgrims from all over the world.
