Russia announces participation of 60,000 people in testing Corona vaccine
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin in Russia announced that more than 60,000 people will take part in a Corona vaccine test in the Russian capital.
He said during an interview with "Russia 1" channel that "More than 60,000 people have announced themselves as volunteers, and thousands of people have undergone medical tests so that they can be registered in the list of potential candidates for the test," according to Sputnik.
- Earlier, the mayor of Moscow said that there were no plans to impose new restrictions in the capital regarding the Corona virus.
- He pointed out that 2 weeks ago until now, 800,000 people have been vaccinated against influenza in Moscow, and about 6 million residents of the capital are scheduled to be vaccinated.
- As for the end dates for the 3rd phase trials after registering the vaccine against the Coronavirus in Moscow, Sobyanin had said earlier: “On September 5, we will start next week a large study (clinical trials of the post-registration vaccine) that will last for 2 to 6 months.”
It is noteworthy that the Russian Ministry of Health previously registered the world's first vaccine to prevent Covid-19 under the name "Sputnik V", which was developed by the experts of the Jamali Epidemiology and Microbiology Research Center, and was produced jointly with the Russian Fund for Direct Investments.
- The head of the fund, Kirill Dmitriev, announced that the fund had received requests from more than 20 countries of the world to buy 1 billion doses of the Russian-made vaccine against Covid-19.
- At the same time, he indicated that Russia has agreed to produce this vaccine in 5 countries, and the available capacities cover the opportunity to produce 500 million doses per year.
- Russia ranks 4th in the world, after the United States, Brazil and India, in the list of countries most affected by the Corona virus in terms of the number of infections, but it is characterized by the small number of deaths.
