Saudi Airlines is using UV radiation to disinfect Aircraft cabin from Corona Virus
Saudi Airlines (Saudia) announced that it has began using advanced Ultravoilet light technology to disinfect and sterilize aircraft cabins in cooperation with the Saudi Ground Services.
As part of the airline's efforts to make sure the safety of passengers and in order to curb the spread of Covid-19 (Corona virus) disease. This technology helps to disinfect a medium sized aircraft cabin within 10 minutes.
- The airline said, this addition is a further step in the comprehensive aircraft sterilization process before and after each flight. - The new technology UVC works by launching ultraviolet rays to sterilize cabin surfaces, UVC radiation is known disinfectant and has effectively used to reduce the spread of bacteria for decades.
- Several studies claims that 99.9% of Corona viruses can be killed when exposed to UVC radiation. Saudia said the UVC device simultaneously sterilizes both sides of the cabin.
