 Saudi Arabia to impose 10 Years Jail and 30 Million fine on Cutting down Trees, Plants


Anyone who cuts a tree or plant in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia could face 10 years jail term or 30 million Saudi Riyals fine or both announced the Public Prosecution of the Kingdom.



Cutting down plants, trees, shrubs, herbs, leaves or any part and uprooting, moving, stripping from their barks or moving their soil will result in severe penalties as mentioned in environmental laws of Saudi Arabia said the Prosecution.

- The announcement comes as part of Saudi Vision 2030, where it plan to achieve environmental sustainability by the end of the year 2030. 

- Last month, the environment minister announced the launch of green campaign to plant 10 million trees by April 2021 to reduce desertification. Trending : Saudi Arabia to plant 10 million trees in 6 Months

- The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture started the campaign 'Lets Make it Green', which will end by 30th August 2021.
