Saudi Arabia opens registration of Corona Vaccine for Citizens and Expats, Vaccination to done in 3 Phases
The Ministry of Health appealed to citizens and resident expatriates to register by applying through 'Sehhaty (my health)' app to take the Corona (Covid-19) vaccine starting from Today, stressing that the vaccine is safe “and protects you and your loved ones from infection with the virus.
- The Health Ministry said the Corona vaccine is free for all citizens and expatriates as per the directive of the Kingdom's wise leadership.
- The ministry assured the safety and efficacy of the Corona vaccine after effective passage of the vaccine testing phases, the successful tests showed its strong immune response and antibodies in those who received trial shots. Trending : Number of doses required of Corona vaccine in Saudi Arabia
The vaccination will be administered over 3 phases and each stage has targeted groups.
* The first phase will cover those with 2 or more chronic diseases like asthma, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, chronic heart disease, coronary artery disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and those with a history of previous stroke. It also include those who have immunodeficiency like organ transplantation or taking immunosuppressive drugs.
- The first phase also covers those who are over the age of 65 years, health and other professionals who are most vulnerable to infection during their fight with pandemic, people who are obese and have a body mass index of over 40.
* The 2nd phase covers who are over the age of 50 years and remaining health practitioners and those who have one of the following chronic diseases like asthma, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, chronic heart disease, coronary artery disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, active cancer or those who have obesity and have BMI between 30 to 40. * The 3rd phase includes all who wish to receive the Corona virus vaccine.
