Sultanate of Oman bans entry for citizens of 10 countries to curb Covid-19 spread
The Sultanate of Oman announced that it will prevent the entry to those people coming from 10 countries for a period of 15 days, to counter the spread of the new Corona virus (Covid-19) mutated strains.
Today, the Supreme Committee in charge of discussing a mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Corona virus in the Sultanate of Oman said, that it had prevented entry from 10 countries for a period of 15 days, to curb the spread of the virus strains. - The decision will be implemented from Thursday (25 Feb 2021) and the list of 10 ban countries includes the following
1. Sudan
2. Lebanon
3. South Africa
4. Brazil
5. Nigeria
6. Tanzania
7. Ghana
8. Guinea
9. Sierra Leone and
10. Ethiopia.
- The ban includes those coming from any other countries, if they have passed through any of the ten mentioned countries during the 14 days following the entry request, with the exception of Omani citizens, diplomats, health workers and their families, who will be subject to the approved procedures upon entering the Sultanate reports Oman News Agency.
- The Supreme Committee called on citizens and residents to avoid traveling during the coming period, unless absolutely necessary. Related : Oman calls its citizens and residents to not travel outside the country
