The Capital city of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, is the largest city in the Kingdom in terms of Population, It has a population of 6.9 million at a growth rate of 3.5%.
Riyadh city is located in the middle of Arabian Peninsula in the Najd Plateau, It is the 3rd largest Arab capital and it has historical, political and commercial importance since it was an ancient city to till now.

- Riyadh won the titile of the Capital of Arab Culture in the year 2000 and the Capital of Arab Media in the year 2019 and has hosted many local, Gulf, Arab and international conferences and summits, the most recent of which was Riyadh Summit in the year 2017, Gulf Summit in the year 2018 and in November 2020, Riyadh also hosted and chaired the G20 Summit.
Riyadh region has 22 Governorates and they are
1. Diriyah Governorate : It is considered as 1st and 2nd Saudi state, there are ancient homes for the Saudi Royal family built on ruins of the city of Hajar, the capital of Yamama. It is with an area of 2020 Km2 and it has a population of 73,000.

3. Dawadmi Governorate : Its area is 30,000 Km2 and its population is 217,000. The Palace of King Abdul Aziz is among the ancient monuments here, it is bordered with Al Qassim region in North and in South by the Governorate of Quwaiyah.
4. Majmaah Governorate : Its with an area of 30,000 Km2, Its historical places is an old castle called "Al Marqab", it is bordered on north by Eastern and Qassim regions and on south by Thadiq and Shaqra Governorates.
