Nepal stops PCR testing for Foreigners who are on the way to Third countries
The Ministry of Health and Population in Nepal directed all health facilities that provide PCR test services to stop testing foreigners that are in Nepal on the move to third countries.
As per the issued notice from Health Ministry on 25th April, The coronavirus test labs are directed to conduct PCR tests only for those who are Nepali citizens, staffers of diplomatic agencies and missions and their families and those foreigners who are living in Nepal for longer duration, only after verifying their papers. - All the laboratories have been asked to avoid testing to foreigners who make the country a transit before they fly to a third country or come to the Nepal only to take a PCR test.
- The notice claims that such kind of activities has increased the risk of Covid-19 infections in the country, and therefore, any labs or persons that conducts such PCR tests will be dealt with the relevant laws and regulations.
