10,000 Riyals penalty for Family Gathering that violate Precautionary Measures - Interior Ministry
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia, Lieutenant Colonel Talal Al Shalhoub, renewed the penalties imposed on violating gatherings, of the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the relevant authorities to curb the spread of Covid-19.
He said that, it was decided to imposed a penalty estimated to 10,000 riyals for the violation of family gathering and 15,000 SR for non-family gathering.
- A penalty of estimated 40,000 SR will be imposed for the value of violating gatherings for social purposes such as funerals, parties etc., and 50,000 SR for any gatherings from categories of workers. - He added that a penalty will be applied to every person who attends the violating gatherings estimated at 5,000 SR, pointing out that upon repetition, the penalty imposed will be doubled from the previous amount until amounted to 100,000 riyals, in addition to his referral to the Public Prosecution upon repetition for the second time to consider his imprisonment as per the legal procedures.
- He added that, a penalty of 10,000 riyals will be applied on everyone who calls for any gathering of groups that violate or cause them, explaining that upon repetition, the penalty will be doubled until it reaches 100,000 riyals, including the Public Prosecution upon repetition to consider the jail term for him according to the legal procedures.
- He said that, the sanctions aim to apply social distancing and organize human gatherings, which are a direct cause of the outbreak of Covid-19, in a way that ensures preventing the virus from spreading and losing control over it.
