Granting Makkah hotels the ability to issue Umrah permits during Ramadan - Ministry of Hajj and Umrah
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia rescued the hotel sector in Makkah, by granting the status of issuing Umrah permits to its guests, who are pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan.
This status is given to the hotels located in the central area surrounding the courtyards of the Holy Mosque of Makkah, in order to serve the workers in the Hajj and Umrah system, whose investments have been damaged and revenues have declined due to the Corona pandemic. - The hotels issuance of Umrah permits came directly in coordination between the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) through the apps "Eatmarna" and "Tawakkalna" for guests being required to strictly meet regulatory requirements and approved health protocols, in order to support this important sector, and to maintain the continuity of the investment and economic movement In the central area.
- The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Abdel Fattah bin Suleiman Mashat, said that the hotel sector is one of the units operating in the Hajj and Umrah system, and cooperation has been made with them in issuing Umrah permits to guests directly, with workers in these sectors being obligated to follow all preventive measures for their close association with the guests of Rahman, in order to preserve their health and safety to perform their rituals in comfort, security and stability.
- He highlighted in a statement that, this measure will play a role in activating the investment movement of the hotel sector, whose investments are largely related to the Hajj and Umrah seasons, whose activities have been affected by the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic as part of the precautionary measures and preventive protocols taken by the state, in order to preserve the health of everyone. - The chairman of the Hotel Committee, an affiliate of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rayan bin Osama Filali said 1800 hotels and more than 250,000 housing units are being prepared in Makkah to receive Umrah pilgrims.
