UAE allows Pfizer Vaccine for Emergency use in 12-15 years old
The Ministry of Health and Prevention in United Arab Emirates (UAE) has approved the emergency use of Pfizer BioNtech Corona virus vaccine, for the age group of 12 to 15 years, based on the results of clinical studies.
The strict evaluation followed for the emergency use permit, and the local evaluation in compliance with the approved regulations, The UAE government having already permitted its use for 16 years and above. - The UAE's health ministry approved its use, the government's Twitter account said. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday approved the use of the vaccine in children as young as 12.
- This approval comes as an important step for national efforts to combat the Covid-19 virus to prevent this age group, stating the UAE's proactive approach and concern for the health and safety of every member of society.
- The Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the Abu Dhabi Health Department, the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health and the Dubai Health Authority have launched a free vaccination campaign nationwide for all citizens and residents, as part of the continuous efforts to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
- More than 11 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were provided to the population across the United Arab Emirates, contributing to the stated goal of vaccinating half of the eligible population by the end of March 2021.
