Corona Vaccine does not affect Sperm quality or quantity, Study reassures Men
A recent medical study concluded that the numbers of sperm produced by men will not be affected by the Corona virus vaccine, after a wave of controversy spread widely among the pioneers of social networking sites in the world.
Some men had been hesitant to get the Corona vaccine fearing that it would affect their sperm. However, CNN said that the new study is evidence that undermines those fears and encourages men to take the Covid-19 vaccine.
- The study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association on Thursday, showed that the number or quality of sperm was not affected in men who took one or two doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Trending : 1st dose of Corona vaccine reduces severe disease and deaths by 80%
- "We will now have evidence that reassure men that the risk of vaccination on sperm count is very low," said David Cohen, associate medical director of the Human Reproduction Institute in Chicago. Corona virus is not transmitted through sexual contact.
- The study used semen samples from 45 men aged between 25 to 31 years, who were pre-examined to make sure that they are free from fertility problems, and sperm samples were taken from those before giving them the first dose, and 70 days after receiving the second dose similar samples were taken of the sample members. - The researchers subjected the sperm samples to test for the nature of their concentration, movability and total number, study author Ranjith Ramasami, director of male reproductive medicine and surgery at the University of Miami Health System, said: “We found no modifications in sperm parameters in the healthy men we studied, who received 2 doses of the Corona vaccine, with messenger RNA technology.” However, The study did not test other vaccines such as Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca.
- “we believe that the mechanism of action of these vaccines is somewhat similar, although there is a difference in the genetic material, so based on the biology, we do not believe that there should be anything different about these 2 vaccines,” added Ramasami. Additional larger studies with men of different ages are required to confirm study results. Recommend : Saudi Arabia to manufacture 'Made in Saudi' 6000 ventilators in a year to save corona patients
