Ministry of Commerce orders an Electronic store to return 500,000 riyals to Consumers
The Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia has ordered an online store that is active in importing goods from China, to return an amount exceeding 500,000 riyals to consumers, due to its delay in fulfilling its orders to deliver the products requested by consumers. The Ministry said, it had received 735 reports of the store’s delay in delivering the products within the specified period, and ministry's continuous follow-up with the store was able to return an amount of 256,427 riyals to consumers, representing the amounts paid by 211 consumers to purchase from the store.

- The Ministry of Commerce confirmed its continuous follow-up of electronic stores to preserve consumer rights, and to make sure that stores stick to the e-commerce system and its executive regulations, monitor all violations, violate non-compliant stores, and impose legal penalties against them.
- The e-commerce system protects all consumer rights, and grants them the right to cancel the order in the event the store is late in delivery or implementation for more than 15 days from the date of contract, and the right to return the commodity or what he provided in exchange for the service within 7 days from the date of purchase or contract in the event that the product is not used or take advantage of the service.
- The Commerce Ministry restated its constant follow-up with great interest to all complaints and observations received through the Consumer Communications Center 1900 or the application of a "commercial communication", in order to preserve and protect consumer rights in all commercial transactions.
