More than Half million expatriates left Saudi Labor Market in a Year
More than a half million (571,333) expatriates left Saudi Arabia's job market from private and public sector during a period of one year until the second quarter of 2021, this represents a decrease of 8.52%, as per the report released by the General Authority for Statistics and GOSI (General Organization for Social Insurance). The total number of expats in the local market by the end of June this year fell to 6,135,126, compare to last year's June 2020, which was 6,706,459.
- The report also shown a decrease of 5.46% in the subscribers of GOSI in the public and private sectors of Kingdom including both citizens and expatriates, which was 474,832 subscribers, during the period. Trending : Institutional quarantine for Expats and visitors in 2 cases - Tawakkalna
- By the end of the 2nd quarter of this year, the total number of GOSI subscribers reached 8,199,723 against 8,674,105 subscribers at the end of the 2nd quarter of 2020.
- The report also stated that there has been an increase in the number of Saudi subscribers to GOSI. A total of 123,951 Saudi citizens entered the employment market during the 2nd quarter of this year and this represents an annual increase of 6.4%.
- The number of Saudi nationals and subscribers to GOSI in the government and private sectors reached to 2,064,597 by the end of June this year, compared to 1,940,646 in last year June. Read : MOFA announces the extension of Visit visas for the purpose of Tourism
- During this year, the number of expat subscribers of GOSI fell by 3.12% reaching 197,745, in the 2nd quarter compared to the first quarter of the year. The number of Saudi subscribers also witnessed a drop of 2.94%, which is 62,583 during the same period.
