Public Prosecution reveals the Fine and Jail term for tearing up Saudi Currency
The Public Prosecution in Saudi Arabia issued a statement and warned against manipulating the legally circulated currency of the Kingdom and revealed its fine and imprisonment. Join Saudi Expatriates Whatsapp group
The Public Prosecution in its statement said, “Anyone who deliberately, with bad intent, changes the features of the legal money circulating inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after distorting it, tearing it or washing it, by chemical means, or reducing its weight or size or partially destroying it by any means is a violation. Similar : Money laundering is punishable in Saudi Arabia, know its fine and imprisonment
- This violation will be punished by imprisonment for a period of not more than 5 years and not less than 3 years (3 to 5 years), and a fine of 3,000 to 10,000 riyals, or one of the two penalties.”
- The Prosecution pointed out that the word 'money' mentioned in the penal system for counterfeiting money means metallic coins of all kinds, regardless of the type of metal minted, as well as paper money circulated legally inside or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
