The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia renewed the reminder that 1 dose is not enough and that adding another dose increases immunity, But the booster dose is currently important to protect against complications and variants of the Corona virus (Covid-19).
The Ministry of Health through its Twitter published a video of its official spokesman, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdali, in which he said that the booster dose improves the level of immunization reached by the vaccinated person.
- He added that the 2nd dose raises immunity to a level that can protect and sufficient to fight off the virus and its mutations, and reduce the complications resulting from it and the severity of the disease to large and very important levels. - After some time of this very important level of immunity against Corona, after taking the second dose, it happens that the antibodies, which are an important element of immunity, decrease in their levels, especially 6 months after the second dose.
- The spokesperson of the Ministry of Health explained that, it is necessary to strengthen that immunity that was reached with a third booster dose, In order for society to remain strong against Corona and its mutations.
- Today, Saudi Arabia recorded 48 new corona infections, 61 new recoveries and 1 death in the last 24 hours, after which the total corona cases in Saudi Arabia reaches to 550,136 of them 539,338 recovered with 8,851 deaths. - Active cases of Corona virus in the Kingdom slightly falls to 1,947 of them 29 are critical and are receiving treatment in intensive cares. Jeddah tops in the list with 225 active cases, Makkah with 105, Riyadh with 100, while Madina has 96 active corona cases.
- Saudi government has provided more than 47.97 million (47,975,287) doses of Corona vaccine all over the Kingdom so far, of them 468,805 are booster doses and the elderly people received 1,725,320 doses.
