Saudi Arabia's active corona cases falls to 1,989 of them 29 are critical


The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia announced 46 new corona infections, 64 new recoveries and 2 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing up the total Covid-19 cases in the Kingdom to 550,043 of them 539,205 recovered while 8,849 people left the world due to the complications with the virus. The Active cases of corona infections drops to 1,989 of them 29 are critical and are receiving treatment in intensive cares. Jeddah tops in the list of active cases with 237, Makkah with 107, Riyadh with 104, while Madina has 99 active corona cases.

- In the past 24 hours, The Ministry of Health has performed 38,407 corona tests, so far 31,825,816 covid-19 tests done by the ministry since the beginning of the pandemic in the Kingdom. Trending : UAE launches new 50-dirham bank note, first of its kind in the country

- Saudi government has given more than 47.87 million (47,878,469) doses of corona vaccine all over the Kingdom through its 487 vaccination centers. Of them 439,813 are booster doses and the elderly people received 1,724,492 doses.





- The Ministry's official data states, over 22.70 million (22,707,307) people received two doses of corona vaccine in the Kingdom, while 24.73 million (24,731,349) people received only one dose of the corona vaccine.

- Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that there is no reason to doubt that the current vaccines against the corona virus protect with the variant 'Omicron'. Michael Ryan the director of emergencies at WHO said there are no indications that the Omicron variant will cause a more severe disease compared to Delta variant. - He added that, "We have highly effective vaccines that have proven effective against all variants so far, in terms of severe illness and hospitalization, and there is no reason to expect that this will not be the case for Omicron, stressing that more research is needed."
