Public Health Authority reveals the Immunity percentage of Vaccines against Omicron variant
The Assistant Chief Executive Officer for Disease Control at the Public Health Authority (Weqaya) in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Imad Lafi Al-Mohammadi said that preliminary studies published globally specify that booster doses of the Corona vaccine protect against severe symptoms and death due to corona virus. Al-Mohammadi in his statements during Yesterday's health conference explained that, the first dose of the Corona vaccine gives immunity against the Omicron mutant by 52%, while the second dose provides 72% and the booster dose raises the immunity to 88%. - He highlighted that, studies shows a lower risk of hospitalization due to the Omicron variant compared to the Delta, he pointed out that the overall risk related to Omicron is very high.
Saudi Interior Ministry reveals the Penalty for spreading rumors about Corona pandemic and Not wearing a Mask or not applying physical distance :
- In the same conference, the security spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, Colonel Talal Shahloub, warned everyone who works to spread rumors and spread false information about the Corona virus pandemic, and those violate it will face the penalty of a fine of not more than 1 million riyals, or imprisonment for a period of not less than a year.
- Shalhoub explained, in his statements that the penalty for not wearing a mask and not applying the distancing measures is 1,000 riyals, and the penalty imposed on the previous time is doubled upon repetition and it may reaches 100,000 riyals.
