Is medical examination must for issuance of Iqama? Jawazat response
The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) in Saudi Arabia clarified that in order to issue a new iqama (residence permit) to a worker for an individual company, a medical examination is required to complete the procedure. Join Saudi Expatriates on Telegram
This came in response, after a question was received by the official Twitter account of Jawazat asking,
“To issue a new iqama (residence permit) for a worker in an individual establishment, is a medical examination or medical insurance required before the issuance of a iqama after the medical examination?”
- Saudi Jawazat stated, A new iqama can be issued through the Absher or Muqeem platform of the employer after paying the fees, and a medical examination is must to be able to complete the procedure. Similar : Check medical report status online for new iqama
- Jawazat continued its statement stating, bearing in mind that, a fine for delaying the issuance of iqama after 90 days from the date of arrival is 500 riyals.
