Men wearing Shorts is not a violation of Public Decorum, except in Mosques and Government offices


Men wearing shorts in public will not be considered as a violation of public decorum in the Kingdom except in Mosques and Government offices, a new amendment to the public decency violations schedule revealed as per Saudi Gazette. Subscribe to Saudi Expatriates YouTube channel







The decision came after the Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Naif issued a ministerial decision recently, calling for the amendment of the public decorum regulation in as per the provisions of Articles 7 and 9 of the regulations. - Together with the decision to amend the regulation for violating public decorum, the minister has approved adding a new violation to the classification of public decorum violations, making it to total 20, from the approved 19.





- The decision specified a fine for anyone who wears shorts only in mosques and government offices, and the sum would range between 250 to 500 Saudi Riyals. Trending : Conditions and Procedure for changing image on Iqama of an expat in Saudi Arabia

- The Public Decorum regulation is in force from 2nd November, 2019, after the approval of the minister of interior, who identified 19 violations that the violators are punishable by fines ranging between to 50 riyals to 6,000 riyals and that was before being amended by the latest decision.
