Updating the measures for People coming to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah or Visit
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia issued a circular regarding the update of the regulations for those coming to the Kingdom from abroad to perform Umrah or visit based on what was received from the competent authorities.
The Ministry of Hajj through its official Twitter explained that it would like to inform pilgrims and visitors of updating the procedures for entering the Kingdom to perform Umrah or visit. This is in order to preserve the health and safety of the pilgrims, and based on what was reported by the competent authorities regarding the measures taken by the Kingdom in the face of the Corona virus and its variants, as per the following:
1. Umrah pilgrims coming to the Kingdom, regardless of their vaccination status must bring a negative certificate for an approved PCR test, or a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) for the Corona virus for a sample taken within 48 hours from the date of departure to the Kingdom. 2. The procedures will start at 1 AM in the morning on Wednesday, 9th February, 2022.
- Earlier this, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Hisham Saeed said that since the beginning of the Umrah season until now, the number of pilgrims came to Kingdom on Umrah visa has reached to 282,000 in 6 months.
- He added that the demand of Umrah permits from abroad is expected to rise, especially as the month of Ramadan is near, noting that health procedures are subject to the pandemic changes. Follow Saudi Expatriates on imo channel
