Saudi Arabia scraps several Corona restrictions including Social Distancing, PCR result, Quarantine, starting 5th March 2022
The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia announced the suspension of several restrictions related to Corona virus in the Kingdom including social distancing, PCR test result certificates, quarantine and other precautionary measures, starting from Today 5th March 2022.
The Ministry of Interior was decided to lift the precautionary and preventive measures related to combating the Corona pandemic, as of this date, according to the following
1. Suspending the application of social distancing measures in the Two Holy Mosques (Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque), and other mosques, while continuing to requiring of wearing a mask in them.
2. Suspending the application of social distancing measures in all places (closed and open), activities and events.
3. Wearing a mask is not required in open places, while in closed places it is required to wear a mask.
4. No more need of a negative PCR result certificate before coming to the Kingdom.
5. Those who are coming to Saudi Arabia on visit visas of all kinds, required to have insurance to cover the costs of treatment of infection with corona virus, during their period of stay in the Kingdom.
6. Cancelling the application of Institutional quarantine and home quarantine for those who coming to Saudi Arabia.
7. Lifting the suspension of direct arrival to Saudi Arabia and allowing all the flights To arrive and depart from Kingdom to South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Malawi, Mauritius, Zambia, Madagascar, Angola, Seychelles, Comoros, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Afghanistan.
- The Ministry of Interior highlighted the importance of continuing to complete the vaccination, which includes taking the (3rd) booster dose, and applying procedures to verify health status in the “Tawakulna” application to enter facilities, activities, events, boarding flights and public transportation.
- The Ministry explained that the measures taken above are subject to continuous evaluation by the competent health authorities in the Kingdom, according to the developments in the epidemiological situation.
