Saudi HR Ministry announces Eid Al-Fitr holidays for Private and non-profit sectors


The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) in Saudi Arabia announced the date and duration of Eid Al-Fitr holidays in the Kingdom for private and non-profit sectors.







The Ministry indicated that the leave begins at the end of the working day on Saturday, 29th Ramadan (30th April, 2022) for a period of 4 days, which is until the end of Wednesday, 4th May 2022 and the workers to resume their work from 5th May 2022 (Thursday).

- The Human Resources ministry called the employers to abide by what was stated in the second paragraph of the Article 24 of the executive regulations of Saudi Labor Law. See Also : What is Zakat? Is every Muslim responsible to pay it?

- The 2nd paragraph of Article 24 of Saudi Labor Law states that, when the days of feasts and occasions overlap, the worker shall be compensated for the weekly rest with an equivalent before or after the days of those holidays.





- The annual leave is extended to the extent of these holidays. As for the sick leave, the worker is entitled to full paid salary for these days without regard to the wages due for the days of sick leave.

- While for Saudi National Day, with days off on one of the two holidays, the worker is not compensated for this day. Read : Delaying the salary of the worker is a violation of Saudi Labor Law
