Saudi citizen faces 10 Years jail term, 30 million fine for keeping 3 Lions in his private resort


A Saudi citizen is facing a penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of 30 million riyals for illegally keeping 3 lions at his private resort in the capital city Riyadh. Follow Saudi Expatriates on Twitter







A team of the National Center for Wildlife, in cooperation with the Special Forces for Environmental Security, started investigation on a report that 3 lions were being kept in a rest house in Riyadh, an act considered as a violation of the Environmental Law.

- The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Saudi Arabia has begun implementing strict executive regulations to control hunting in the Kingdom and to preserve the Saudi Arabia's wildlife.





- Those who illegally hunt will face hefty penalties for any unauthorized practice. The Ministry has specified the penalties for unauthorized practices, which are a jail term of up to 10 years or a fine of not more than 30 million riyals for certain violations if repeated for second time or within one year.
