Saudi Arabia arrests a Citizen for helping non-Muslim illegally to enter Makkah
Saudi Arabia arrested a citizen and referred to the Public Prosecution for facilitating the entry of a non-Muslim journalist into Makkah, violating the Kingdom's law that prohibits entry of non-Muslims into the holy city. Like and Follow Saudi Expatriates on Facebook
Makkah region's police has referred a Saudi citizen to the Public Prosecution, who was involved in an unlawful activity of transferring and facilitating the entry of a non-Muslim journalist who holds the citizenship of United States of America to the holy city of Makkah by passing through a way dedicated for only Muslims in an explicit violation of the laws that prohibits entry to Makkah for non-Muslims.
- The spokesperson for the Makkah region's police said an investigation conducted and scrutiny of the incident of the American journalist, before taking its measures and announcing its decision to refer the case and the citizen who facilitated his entry to the Public Prosecution, which confirms the transparency and integrity of the procedures taken by the Kingdom, the citizen was arrested and legal action was taken against him. - The Makkah police called all those coming to Saudi Arabia, the need to respect the regulations and abide by what they stipulate, especially with regard to the Two Holy Mosques and sacred feelings.
- The authority pointed out that any violation of this kind is considered as a crime that will not tolerated and penalties will be applied to perpetrators based on the relevant regulations.

- Earlier this, The France based AFP news agency reported that journalist Gil Tamary, who works for Israel's Channel 13 had posted a video of himself on Twitter sneaking into Makkah. In the video he was seen climbing Mount Arafat, a sacred place where Muslims gather during Hajj and talking about how he had always wanted to visit Makkah.
- After the video received widespread criticism online, the journalist apologized in a tweet stating, he had not intended to offend Muslims but wanted to showcase the importance of Makkah and the beauty of the religion.
