The Total number of Pilgrims for this year's Hajj season reached 899,353 pilgrims
The General Authority for Statistics announced the total number of Hajj pilgrims for this year reached 899,353, including 779,919 pilgrims from outside the Kingdom through various parts of the world, while from inside the Kingdom reached 119,434 pilgrims, which includes both citizens and residents. The authority further said that this year the total number of male pilgrims reached 486,458 including domestic and foreign pilgrims, while female pilgrims reached to 412,895 from both outside and inside the Kingdom.
- The authority also revealed the percentage of pilgrims from outside the Kingdom, stating Arab countries with 21.4%, Asian countries with 53.8%, while from African countries it was 13.2%, pilgrims Europe, America and Australia reached 11.6%. - The ways of pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom, 736,680 pilgrims arrived through Airports, 35,210 pilgrims arrived through Land ports and 6,029 pilgrims arrived through Sea ports.
- The authority said that the total number of workforce participating in serving the pilgrims this season from various sectors, government and private agencies amounted to 228,721 people, of them 117,048 are permanent workers with 51.2% and 111,672 people are temporary workers at a rate of 48.8%.
- Regarding health and medical services provided to the pilgrims during the Hajj season this year, the total workforce in this field reached 21,062, of them 60% are males and 40% are females, and the number of hospitals has reached to 23, number of health centers in Makkah, Madina and Holy sites with 152 centers, number of beds to serve patients reached 716 equipped medical beds, number of equipped ambulances to serve pilgrims reached to 511. - The authorities also arranged 6 planes in case of any critical situation among the pilgrims, number of vaccines planned to provide 90,840, 198 isolation rooms prepared, emergency centers equipped to treat emergency cases to 97 centers. 264 medical teams reached for emergency cases, 294 surgeries were performed between catheterization, childbirth and other medical operations.
- Regarding Security services, 38 police stations, 223 traffic stations to facilitate the flow of groups of pilgrims in Makkah and between the sites of Hajj, 114 security control centers at the entrances of Makkah, while the Civil Defense Centers reached 220.
