Difference in religion of an Expat wife requires her to get an Independent iqama
The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) in Saudi Arabia clarified that in order to add the wife of an expat to iqama, whose religion is differ from his husband, then it is required the wife to obtain an independent residence permit. The Jawazat explained that, if an expat requests to add his wife and minor children to his iqama as head of the family, and the religion of wife is differ from husband, then she must get an independent iqama at the legally prescribed fee of 500 riyals. - The Saudi Jawazat highlighted that if the wife to be added to her husband's residency was married to her inside the Kingdom, then her sponsorship must first be transferred to her husband after bringing a copy of the marriage contract, with payment of the fees specified by law, then added to her husband's iqama.
