Public Prosecution sets the penalties for cheating in Precious metals with Jail term and fine
The Public Prosecution in Saudi Arabia announced the penalties for cheating in the weights, quality or weight of precious metals, stating that the penalties for such frauds costs imprisonment of 2 years or a fine of up to 400,000 riyals. The Prosecution through its official Twitter account explained that, the criminally protected interests of precious metal artifacts require that they be stamped as per their quality with one of the regular calibers.
- The Saudi Public Prosecution continued and said to stamped, decorate items be stamped with a number showing the percentage of the precious metal they contain coupled with a statement of its type and items painted with the word 'coated' are stamped. - The Public Prosecution added that, "Whoever cheats or deceives in the type, weight or quality of precious metals or items coated, decorate or coated with them, or cheats or deceives in the type, class, weight, quality level of precious stones, shall be punished with imprisonment of up to two years and a fine of up to 400,000 riyals".
