SFDA seizes a Company in Jeddah for tampering the Expiry Dates of Cosmetic products
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in the Kingdom seized over 3,000 packages of violating cosmetic products, which were stored inside a facility in Jeddah, as part of its efforts to monitor and inspect facilities under its supervision.
The Food and Drug Authority said that, it had received a report about the facility that sells and store beauty products with infringing product identification data and tampering with the products expiration dates.
- The SFDA explained that a committee was formed with the participation of the inspectors of the Ministry of Commerce to seize and violating containers and work to trace their sources. Trending : All food items in Saudi Arabia are halal
- The authority started its preparation in completing the legal procedures against the violating facility as per the Pharmaceutical and Herbal Facilities and Products Law and its Executive regulations.
- The SFDA called on all customers to report violations of the facilities under its supervision when they are noticed, by calling the unified toll free number 19999.

This came in light after a user posted a query with SFDA on the high prices of a type of medicine in Saudi Arabia, as he asked, "He bought medicine from the Sultanate of Oman, and its price was 20 riyals, while in Kingdom it is for 57 riyals". - The Saudi Food and Drug Administration in response said that the authority is constantly reviewing medicines prices, since last 2 years and it has been able to reduce the prices of more than 2,500 products.
