Stores cannot force Customers to buy 2 products in case they only need One product - Ministry of Commerce
The Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia has clarified that "A seller has no right to obligate customers to buy 2 products in order to get 1 of them or to link the sale of one product to another".
This came in clarification from the Ministry of Commerce on its official Twitter handle as part of their weekly campaign to raise public awareness about customer rights in the Kingdom. Read : 6 steps to avoid fraud and scam in e-commerce
- However, the Ministry specifies two exceptions to this rule,
1. Stores or sellers are allowed to use this method if the store has ongoing offer of getting 1 item free when buying a certain product.
2. When a product's brochure or catalog specifies the two items are linked with each other.

Ministry of Commerce carries inspections to control irregularities claiming a malfunction in payment devices :
The supervisory teams of the Ministry of Commerce carried out inspections to control violations claiming malfunctions in payment devices, to impose immediate fines on non-complaint companies.
Last week, The Ministry through its official Twitter said, Our supervisory teams are carrying out field inspections in various regions of the Kingdom to set the commitment of commercial establishments to provide e-payment methods. - The supervisory teams of the Ministry have been conducting extensive inspection tours of facilities suspected of being involved in committing crimes and violations of the anti-cover-up system.
