The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has clarified that it is prohibited to use added sugar, colorings or flavors in fresh juices and drinks sold in shops or cafes. Recommend : 6 health problems affects fast food lovers







The Food and Druga Authority through its official Twitter stated this in response to a question from a citizen stating, the authority forbids the use of added sugar, colorings and flavors in fresh juices, juice mixtures and drinks.

- The SFDA said that added sugar includes honey, glucose syrup and other forms of added sugar, which are prohibited from being used in juices and drinks in juice shops, restaurants and cafes. Read : These foods are poor in nutrients and it contains fats and sugars, avoid it

- Earlier this, the Food Authority stated that milk or cheese products called similar are safe and all materials used in these products are subject to the technical regulations and specifications issued by the authority.





- The authority further said that it is obligatory to mention the trans fat content of food products on the card, as well as mentioning additives, including taste enhancers, in the list of ingredients on the menu card.
