An Employer does not have right to dismiss a working woman, while she is on Maternity Leave

He said that, The Saudi regulator has guaranteed the right of the working woman to maternity leave and the employer may not dismiss the working woman or warn her of dismissal while she is in maternity leave.

- As per the regulator, the employer is not allowed to dismiss a female worker during the period of her illness resulting from pregnancy. However, the disease is proven by an approved medical certificate, given that the period of her absence does not exceed 180 days. - The lawyer added that, one of the most legitimate reasons is the termination of the employment contract, or if the two parties agree to terminate the contractual relationship, as well as force majeure, and that is during the 180 days preceding the likely date of birth. The employer must provide medical care to the working woman during pregnancy and childbirth.
