Al-Asiri recommends to take Booster dose of Corona vaccine for anyone above 12 years of age
The Assistant Deputy of the Ministry of Health for Preventive Health in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdullah Al-Asiri recommended to take the booster dose of the corona vaccine for everyone who are above 12 years of age. Read : Required ideal sleeping hours for Human body of different ages
During his interview with Al-Arabiya channel, Al-Asiri added the great benefits of vaccine in preventing severe disease and not in preventing primary infection.
- He said vaccines had a very weak effect in preventing primary infection with all Omicron mutant of Covid-19, highlighting that a small percentage of community did not received the booster dose yet. Trending : 4 cases covered under Umrah health insurance policy
- Earlier this, the Minister of Health in Saudi Arabia, Fahd Al-Jalajel announced that there have not yet been any indication of virulence and severity of new Omicron subvariant XBB cases in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- While highlighting the importance of completing vaccines as they are effective against mutated strains of Covid-19, Al-Jalaljel stated that, The ministry is monitoring and following up on all developments related to corona pandemic, including the Omicron XBB sub variant, Thank god, there have been no severe sub mutant cases.
- He stated that, there is need to follow up the advice and instructions of the Ministry of Health and Public Health Authority (Weqaya) and to comply with preventive measures. Weqaya on Monday stated that it had detected the XBB subvariant of Omicron in a limited number of positive samples.
