Saudi King orders Pardon and release of 6 Pakistani nationals who were arrested in Madina
The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia stated that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued an order on Wednesday to pardon and release 6 Pakistani nationals who were arrested during the holy month of Ramadan. This pardon came in response to a request of Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Shareef, who had visit the Kingdom earlier this week.
- All the prisoners who were arrested by the Saudi police for insulting a government delegation of Pakistan at Prophet's Mosque in Madina earlier this year, as they attacked a Pakistani woman and her companions with offensive words in the courtyards of the Prophet's Mosque in Madina. - The Kingdom's police arrested them in April for abusing and insulting federal ministers of information and narcotics control, Marriym Aurangzeb and Shahzain Bugti in the courtyard of the Prophet's Mosque.
- The act was from the supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party who loudly chanted slogans against the 2 ministers and were later arrested for violating the sanctity of the place and putting the safety of visitors and worshipers in danger.
- The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Saudi King and Crown Prince for making the announcement of releasing all Pakistani prisoners who were arrested by the Police during this incident. Read : King Salman directs Saudi Arabia to invest 1 billion dollars in Pakistan
